Review - Lemieux Comfort Fly Shield Full Mask

It's come to that time of year again where the flies are out and about, and as usual, they don't seem to want to go away. I'm sure that everyone can relate with painfully watching your horses and ponies being eaten alive by flies swarming around their heads. I used to end up bringing my ponies in during the day because of the flies causing a lot of discomfort and they usually stand staring outside for most of the ay wishing they were out in the lovely sunshine, but not anymore!A decent but affordable fly mask can be tricky to find, but as usual, Horse Health seem to have come up with the answer!

The Comfort Fly Shield is a new fly mask design this summer that is extremely light weight (weighs almost nothing) and is completely non heating with the ear and poll area made of a breathable, midge-proof material and the eye and nose area made of a mesh, UV reflecting which shields the eyes and is shaped to avoid any caving in on the eye area. The nose and brow strip is also made of a soft wall material which eliminates any chances of rubbing.

The top of the fly mask is elasticity which ensures a perfect fit for different shaped horses, as does the elasticated strap underneath the jaw which is made of strong velcro which has no chance of coming off during the night.

After testing this fly mask for a few weeks on both ponies, I have come to the conclusion that this is most definitely the best fly mask I own! The mesh eye area has such high visibility that a horse wouldn't even be able to tell that it was on and doesn't have any gaps where flies would be able to enter. It's perfect for summer and when the ponies come in after having it on, they are never sweaty and have no rubs or hair movements.

This fly mask comes in four sizes: small, medium, large and extra large. I went for medium and it fits both of my ponies really well but i'm almost certain that it would fit a small horse as well due to the adjustability.

This is a must have for the Summer months and hot weather, better than any fly mask i've seen so far in every way. It is both technically and visibly pleasing, and extremely effective!
