Review - Horse Health Lava Burst Shampoo
In the last few months, I've been having some serious trouble convincing Rambo's coat to grow or have any shine at all. It's become increasing worse, with pretty much everything rubbing him (including his reins) and at one point, almost turning dun on his head. Ever since the event season started, I've been slightly embarrassed turning up with his dull, yellowy coat, when most horses are now growing a lovely, soft and shiny summer coat.
After giving pretty much everything a go, Horse Health released this "colour intensifying shampoo" to be honest, there wasn't much hope left, but of course, I gave it a go anyway.
I had Withington on Sunday, so when the shampoo arrived on Thursday, I wasn't able to use it until after I had ridden on Saturday due to being at school for the rest of the week, slightly leaving whether it would work or not to chance!
Because of time constraints, rather than applying directly to the skin as recommended on the bottle, I squeezed a small amount into a bucket and filled it up with hot water, along with another rinsing bucket. I then used the HH Half Moon Sponge to completely wet him all over with the shampoo water, and then proceeded to lather it all up with the HH Hippo Brush which helped to get it really deep into the coat as well. Unlike some shampoos, it didn't take too long to wash off which is great for when you need a quick wash.
After a thorough rinse, I popped him in the stable for 20 minutes with his Lemieux Thermo-Cool rug on from my lovely sponsors Jo Hansford Photography, which made sure that he didn't get cold while he was wet. As you can see in the video above, his coat really darkened and wasn't yellowy at all compared to what he was before. The Aloe Vera and Camomile part of Lava Burst also meant that his rubs were soothed and didn't sting when they were washed directly. He even had a bit of a shine in his coat when the small amount of sun shined on it which is a miracle!
I will definitely carry on using the Lava Burst Shampoo of for every day and before competitions as it really seems to be helping hi coat get it's usual colour back. It comes in 3 sizes, 500ml, 1 litre and 4 litre so there is a size for everyones necessity. You can purchase the Horse Health Lava Burst Shampoo here. Enjoy the video!
