Review - *NEW* Lemieux Corn Blue

Ever since the first photos of the new lemieux corn blue were released, I have been completely obsessing over it and saving up in anticipation of them coming on sale. When Horse Health emailed to tell me that they were sending one of the close contact samples, weeks early, I was beside myself with excitement...and with the super speedy HH next day delivery, it was with me and ready for testing less that 24 hours later.

The first thing that I noticed, is that unlike most of the other lemieux pads, instead of the accents being black or brown, they're a gorgeous soft navy blue colour instead which complements the main colour perfectly, also making is seem a lot softer. The girth area still has a very handy protector which strengthens the pad and means that there isn't going to be any damage in that area - or any pesky black marks! The D-Ring straps are velcro and a really good length, not too long or too short which I have found to be a problem with many other makes of pads.

The best thing about this pad though, is the super super soft bamboo lining and suede lustre material. It's honestly so soft that I can't believe that it could ever rub, and it definitely hasn't rubbed any of mine yet! From the feel of other LM pads in the past, I think that HH could quite possibly have updated the design and made it even softer than the last batch of colours.

Washing wise, i've only had to wash it twice after being used almost every day for over a month due to it's fabulous wicking properties and breathable material which means less sweat and less washing! It was washed with 2 or 3 other pads of the same sort of colour, just to make sure that there was no colour mixing, on a cold wash with 400 spin before drying out in the lovely sun. The few remaining hairs I brushed off with the HH Hippo Brush which really does have its many uses and works extremely well for hair removal (You can check out the review of it here and purchase it here).

I think overall that this is definitely my favourite Lemieux colour yet, being a mix between blueberry, teal and Benetton (my other favourite colours) , there's no need to buy all 3! I'll be off to badders at the beginning of may to buy the dressage set so that we can have even more corn blue! You can purchase this pad here, along with all of the other matching accessories!
