Review - LeMieux Eurojump Saddlepad
This absolutely stunning LeMieux Eurojump Saddlepad is just a league above any other: undoubtedly stylish, yet functional and durable.
First Impression:
Very different from the usual style - although the basics are still the same, the EuroJump seems to have a touch of elegance about it!
Sizing:
Large for Rambo who is 14.1h and has a 17" saddle. It fitted just where I wanted it but would've been okay for an 18" as I like to pull it up at the front more. If you have a saddle any smaller than 17" I'd recommend going for the s/m option instead.
Features:
A suede top layer for a lovely feel and look, and bamboo lining underneath which has a fabulous wicking quality and eliminates any chances of rubbing (Especially good for clipped coats during the winter). This particular pad has white binding which really finishes off the look and compliments the grey well. The girth area is also made of a faux leather type material which differentiates it from the ProSport pad and looks extra smart. The stitching design of the overall pad is also different and has a rectangle shape instead of a square which just helps it too look even more elegant!
Tried and tested:
I've tried and tested this pad for almost every ride since I've gotten it...and I'm happy to say that the results are looking pretty good! I was slightly worried about the faux leather being rubbed and therefore the logo to eventually disappear with every usage. Luckily I was wrong and you can't tell that it's even been used. The wicking properties of the bamboo lining have been extremely helpful this past week, with lots of training and some pretty nice weather, we've come away with some much happier ponies - and much less sweaty! The overall look of this pad compared to a normal one is so much more elegant that I actually start to feel very proud and more confident when using it, it almost makes me feel like I'm one of the Olympic team who had been using them!
Washing:
I was very tempted to not even wash my EuroJump pad and just take it to the dry cleaners instead for fear of it getting ruined and eaten by the washing machine! But I put on my brave pants and I'm pleased to say that it came our good as new with not a mark or hair in sight.
So, I'm very very happy with this pad, only problem is that I'm not sure whether I can go back to using a normal one now and just save it for best! I can't wait to use it out competing this season - and I think I'm going to need to invest in a couple more!
