Review - Le Mieux Turnout Boots

Reviewing the le mieux turnout boots! I decided to use these on Custard to test whether they could keep his legs white, and clear rom any cuts or scrapes before our photoshoot with Sorrel Penman Photography! (Photos to follow shortly).

First impression: Look very well made with lots of protection but also very flexible.

Sizing: Small fronts and medium hinds for a 14.2. The fit was perfect, covering all of the necessary areas.

Features: Very strong Velcro (I could barely get it undone!) and particular protection around the heel and tendon: a plastic/rubber part shaped to the heel and a protective strip by the tendon (much like the pro mesh boots). They are made of breathable and flexible material to help circulate the legs and avoid rubbing! The straps are angled to achieve the best fit possible, and double up at crucial points.

Results of my test:

Custard came back in from the field after a particularly Windy and rainy night (his hood and outside of his rug was drenched.) His legs were still white after being washed the night before, however they were wet, due to the pouring rain! There was no rubbing or marks to be seen, you wouldn't have even known that they had been on had his legs not be clean for once!

Washing:

I washed the boots on a cold wash (30 degrees) and 400 spin. They came out good as new, and after about an hour by a radiator, were ready to be used again!

These turnout boots would be perfect for either injury prevention during turnout or keeping legs clean before a competition. They have a great balance between being protective, but not so stiff that they would rub and cause pain.
