Combined Training at West Wilts

Last weekend (13th November) I took both ponies to West Wilts for some combined training. It was my first outing on Custard, and only the second time I've ridden him so I only did the 95cm and 1m. Rambo did the 1m just for a bit of fun as well!

Custards first test was a little bit spooky, but nice all the same. He didn't take a liking to the banners around the arena which made him quite tense! He did his second test pretty much straight after and it was much calmer and less tense. He coped well with the more difficult movement needed for the BE Novice test and I was very pleased with how grown up he was about it!

Rambo was next, and was certainly very happy to be out! The trot work was good but we had a few excited bucks in canter, eventually he settled down though to achieve a decent score, just 1 mark above Custard.

Next was the jumping! Custard produced two lovely rounds, especially good seeing as it was the first time that we had linked two fences together. He jumping clear both times, but definitely some work needed on straightness as he was dramatically jumping to the left!

Rambo found his round way to easy, and jumped like a complete pro, not batting and eyelid! He flew everything with about a metre to spare, thanks to our Horse Health SJ boots!

Custard finished with a 3rd and 4th, and Rambo managed 3rd! So excited for more competitions this winter, lots more to come out of these two superstars!

Rambo and Custard both wore their saddlepads and fly hoods from Horse Health, also Rambo wore his SJ boots as previosuly mentioned and his gorgeous sponsored saddlepad from Kevin Bacons Equine Products. He travelled in his Hidez UK compression socks which made sure that he stayed in tip top condition. Custard wore his stunning Paragon Equestrian browband!
